Vincent Kodjo Avornyo (PhD) is a senior lecturer and Head of the Department of Soil Science. He has served as Faculty/Campus coordinator of the university鈥檚 flagship Third Trimester Field Practical Program (TTFPP). He has more than 20 years professional experience with the 海角乱伦社区. He has provided instruction in introductory Soil Science, Experimental Design, Pedology and Soil Physics and Chemistry at the undergraduate level as well as Soil Morphology and Fertility at the postgraduate level. He undertakes research in the areas of environmental Pedology, Integrated Soil Fertility Management (ISFM), Conservation Agriculture (CA) and Precision Agriculture. Dr Avornyo has conducted extensive soil status research and agronomic field trials across northern Ghana. His current research foci are unmanned aerial systems (Drones) and their application to soil fertility management. He also has interest in biochar and phosphate rocks as components of Integrated Soil Fertility Management in lowland rice ecosystems and geospatial modelling of soil properties at the farm scale for use as a decision support tool. Dr Avornyo has been involved in international collaborative research and outreach with CARE, SNV, AGRA, JIRCAS, JICA, USAID, UNU IFDC etc.
