Ms. Shafawu Alhassan is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, under the Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Consumer Sciences, in the 海角乱伦社区 Nyankpala Campus. She is a trained Caterer and holds Certificate in Education, a Second鈥揅lass Upper Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree in Catering and Hospitality Education, Master of Technology in Catering and Hospitality Education (MTECH), Master of Philosophy in Catering and Hospitality Education (MPHIL), all from the University of Education Winneba-Ghana. Miss Shafawu has 20 years of professional teaching experience from both Ghana Education Service (GES) and Tertiary Institutions. Areas with teaching experience include, Food and Nutrition, Hygiene, Cookery Theory and Practicals, Commodities, Menu Planning, Cookery Practicals, Management in Living, Social TVET, Issues in Family Finances, Methods of Teaching Home Economics, Principles of Housing and Housing Management, Curriculum Studies in Home Economics, Principles and Administration of Early Programmes, Philosophical Foundation and Concept in Home Economics, Historical Perspectives of Tourism and Hospitality, Human Resource Management in Tourism and Hospitality, among others. Her overwhelming enthusiasm and welcoming nature has always served as an advantage in the area of professional growth and academic development. Her commitment to duty creates broad room for inclusivity and participatory learning, making the learning environment a learner centered, encouraging capacity building which shapes learners into responsible adults and also arouses their self-esteem as responsible future leaders. As a visionary, she believes in due diligence, perseverance, transparency, accountability, empathy, and cooperation, which forms the bedrock of every foundation. Research interests are: Catering, Hospitality and Tourism Management and TVET Education and its related areas.
