Background
Hudu Zakaria (PhD) is an Associate Professor of Agricultural Innovation Communication and Rural Development and is currently the Head of the Department of Agricultural Innovation Communication. He previously served as a Faculty Coordinator of the Directorate of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance for the then Faculty of Agribusiness and Applied Economics. Assoc. Professor Hudu Zakaria has been working as a senior member and researcher with the º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø for more than ten (10) years now. During this period, he has taught courses including Introduction to Agricultural Extension, Agricultural Extension Education and Development of Audio-visuals, Principles of Entrepreneurship and Agricultural Extension Communication Systems and Methods at the undergraduate level. At the graduate level, Prof. Hudu Zakaria has been teaching courses including Agricultural Extension Science and Practice, ICT in Extension, Research Methods, Agriculture and the Environment and Entrepreneurship and Development. Prof. Hudu Zakaria has supervised 35 undergraduate theses and 22 graduate theses so far. He undertakes research in the areas of technology adoption, innovation and rural entrepreneurship, gender and sustainable agriculture, climate change and rural livelihoods, emerging technologies in agri-food systems, and gender and food and nutrition security. Prof. Hudu Zakaria's current research is focused on emerging technologies in sustainable agri-food systems, gender, climate-smart agriculture, and sustainable rural livelihoods. He has published over forty (40) research papers published in very reputable journals. Outside UDS, Prof. Hudu Zakaria currently chaired the Tamale College of Education Council, and he is also a member of the Governing Council of the Simon Diedong University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD – UBIDS) and a member of the Northern Regional Lands Commission.
