Background
Dr. Cletus Adiyaga Wezena is a senior lecturer and researcher with over 10 years of experience teaching microbiology and molecular biology at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø. His research focus is on the molecular characterization of infectious pathogens that are important in sub-Saharan Africa such as Plasmodium, Schistosoma, Hepatitis B Virus, and Norovirus. He has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, and has recently contributed to a book chapter. Dr. Wezena is passionate about teaching, knowledge sharing and research and believes that the adoption of student-centered approaches to teaching promotes a safe and positive learning environment. Dr. Wezena recently led a team from the º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø to successfully apply for and receive laboratory equipment from the Seeding Labs Instrumental program.
